1. Who we are
TabulaSMS (“TabulaSMS”, “we”, “us”) builds and operates services that work over text message, including SMSPilot, AnnounceMe, MVC Watch, Remote Start and WhatsApp Bridge, and builds custom SMS solutions for organizations. This policy covers those services and the website at tabulasms.com.
Where we build a custom solution for an organization, that organization decides what messages are sent and is responsible for the consent of its recipients. In that case we process recipient information on the organization’s behalf, under our agreement with it.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us
- Your mobile number, when you text one of our services or are added to a service with your consent.
- The content of the messages you send to a service, such as a flight search or a command.
- Service details you choose to provide, such as travel preferences for SMSPilot, appointment preferences for MVC Watch, or the vehicle you connect to Remote Start.
- Your name and email address, if you write to us.
Information collected automatically
- Message records: the time a message was sent or delivered, delivery status and the carrier route.
- Consent records: when and how you opted in or out of a service.
- Website data: basic technical information such as browser type and pages viewed. Optional analytics cookies are used only if you accept them. See our cookie policy.
3. How we use it
- To provide each service you use and to reply to your messages.
- To honor opt-outs and keep the records that carrier and legal rules require.
- To keep our services secure, prevent abuse and investigate spam reports.
- To fix problems and improve how our services work.
- To answer you when you contact us.
We do not use the content of your messages to advertise to you, and we do not send marketing messages without your separate consent.
4. How we share it
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only:
- With messaging platforms, telecommunications carriers and hosting providers that deliver and run our services, under confidentiality obligations.
- With third-party services you ask us to act on, such as a vehicle manufacturer’s connected-car service for Remote Start or the New Jersey MVC scheduling system for MVC Watch, and only what is needed for that request.
- With carrier registration and compliance bodies, as required for A2P 10DLC messaging.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety or property of our users, the public or TabulaSMS.
- As part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, in which case this policy continues to apply.
5. Mobile information
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Mobile information may be shared only with subcontractors that support the delivery of our messaging services, such as messaging platforms and telecommunications providers.
6. Retention and security
We keep consent and opt-out records for at least four years, as required to show compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act. We keep message content only as long as needed to provide the service, resolve problems and meet legal obligations, then delete it.
We protect information with encryption in transit, verification of every incoming message request, access limited to the people who need it, and providers who meet recognized security standards. No system is perfectly secure, so we also tell you how to report a problem on our security page.
7. Your rights and choices
- Stop messages: reply STOP to any message from a service. You will receive one confirmation and nothing further from that service.
- Get help: reply HELP to any message.
- Access, correct or delete: email privacy@tabulasms.com from any address and include the mobile number involved. We will verify the request, usually by a text to that number, and respond within 45 days.
- Cookies: change your choice at any time on the cookie policy page.
We will not treat you differently for exercising any of these rights.
8. State privacy rights
Residents of California, Colorado, Connecticut, New Jersey, Virginia and other states with consumer privacy laws may have the right to know what we collect, to correct or delete it, to obtain a copy, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising. We do not sell or share personal information in those ways, and we honor Global Privacy Control signals. To use any of these rights, see Do not sell or share my info or email privacy@tabulasms.com. You may use an authorized agent, and you may appeal a decision by replying to our response.
9. Children
Our services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, email privacy@tabulasms.com and we will delete it.
10. Changes and contact
If we change this policy, we will post the new version here with a new effective date. If a change materially affects how we use information we already hold, we will tell you before it takes effect.
